Vetassess Trades has a two stage application process. First, applicants are asked to submit a document-based application with detailed employment evidence including any qualifications they have, employment references and pay evidence. If this is approved then the applicant is invited to sit an online technical interview, conducted via webcam with a Vetassess assessment officer. The total skills fee is $1985 AUD ($635 + $1350). A successful outcome will result in a skills result letter and an AQF 3 qualification. If the applicant is from a country other than those listed above, then they will need to go via Trades Recognition Australia (TRA). For a TRA application, the applicant must submit a document-based application, which includes a relevant AQF 3 equivalent qualification and a minimum of three years’ post-qualification employment, including at least 12 months in the last three years.
